In the past, when a woman would turn down my gig, it would sting a little. Ok, maybe a lot depending on her look. But now, I figure it is their loss. I took these with Wanda Ablee somewhere in Texas. Many people swear by the quality of Torchy’s Tacos. I think it’s pretty good but definitely not what I consider authentic Mexican cuisine. Their “Democrat” or “Crossroads” tacos are great if you enjoy beef. My favorite Mexican food is made by perspiring grandmothers in confined spaces. Sometimes the middle-aged male with hairless forearms will also suffice. But never forget the sweat. The sweat is most important.
